The Academic Bank of Credits (ABC) is an important initiative of the Ministry of Education, Government of India, established in line with the vision of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. Regulated by the University Grants Commission (UGC), ABC is a digital platform designed to facilitate academic flexibility and student mobility across recognized Higher Education Institutions in India.
The platform enables students to securely store, accumulate, transfer and redeem the academic credits earned during their educational journey. Through the Academic Bank of Credits system, students can benefit from greater flexibility in pursuing their education, including credit transfer between eligible institutions and program, subject to applicable regulations and institutional norms.
ABC supports the learner-centric approach envisioned under NEP 2020 by promoting multiple entry and exit opportunities, interdisciplinary learning and seamless academic mobility.
